Pre-season saw a mixed bag of results for Cardiff as they won 3 games, lost 2 and drew 1 in preparation for their first league match, which saw them take a point away at Birmingham (0-0). Despite not being able get a victory under their belt, Cardiff put in a good performance, with Peter Whittingham and Lex Immers testing the keeper on several occasions.

Midweek however, Cardiff lost lost 1-0 in the EFL Cup against Bristol Rovers in extra-time and the Bluebirds will have to be more ruthless in front of goal on Sunday, against this QPR side that have looked impressive of late.

During pre-season QPR won 3, drew 3 and lost just 1 of their ties and that sole defeat was against Eredivisie side FC Groningen. The Hoops’ Netherlands tour also included an impressive 1-0 win against PSV Eindhoven.

During the summer, The Hoops have added depth to their squad through the signing of defenders Joel Lynch and Jake Bidwell, midfielders Ariel Borysiuk and Jordan Cousins, as well as striker Yeni N’Gbakoto.

Last weekend in their first Championship game of the season, QPR secured an impressive 3-0 victory at home to Leeds United, with goals scored by Nedum Onuoha, Tjaronn Chery and Sebastian Polter.

Mid-week QPR then played Swindon in the EFL Cup and progressed to the next round on penalties, after the game finished 2-2 in normal time, so the away side will certainly be coming into this game full of confidence.

These 2 sides last met in Cardiff back in April and the match ended in a 0-0 draw. Similarly in the reverse fixture, the game ended in a draw, although on this occasion the matched finished 2-2.

As for the result of this tie, QPR look to be the form side and therefore I recommend backing QPR -0.25 on the Asian Handicap betting market, which looks great value at 2.92!

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: QPR -0.25 @ 2.92 with Eastbridge Sports Betting Brokerage
