Sweden v Belgium Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Weds 22nd June by @tashason21

Sweden v Belgium – Allianz Riviera at 20:00 live on ITV 4

Sweden take on Belgium in the final match of Group E and risk exiting the tournament should they fail to beat Marc Wilmots’ side.

The Swedes currently have 1 point to their name after their 1-1 draw against the Republic of Ireland and have been struggling to score all tournament, with their only goal being an own goal scored by the Irish!

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is yet to look a threat and both the Republic of Ireland and Italy have dealt with his presence well, successfully managing to keep the PSG man quiet!

Most recently, Sweden lost 1-0 to Italy as a result of a very late goal scored by Eder in 88th minute.

Worryingly for Erik Hamrén’s side, they haven’t looked dangerous in this competition to date and a draw might not be enough for Sweden to qualify as a best 3rd place team, depending on how the other results pan out.

In addition, Sweden don’t have the best of records against Belgium and have failed to win their last 3 matches against them, whilst only managing to score 1 goal.

Belgium however had a rocky start to their campaign after being well fancied to go all the way pre-tournament.

In their 1st game of the group, Wilmots’ men lost 2-0 against Italy and put on a truly abysmal display. Romelu Lukaku’s performance in particular was highly criticised as time and time again he failed to control the ball, frustrating Belgium supporters.

In their 2nd game against the Republic of Ireland, Lukaku improved however and netted 2 goals in their comfortable 3-0 win. Axel Witsel scored the other goal and helped his side get their first points on the board, with Belgium now sitting 2nd in the group on 3 points behind Italy who have 6.

Belgium only need a draw to confirm their place in the next round, although they will be looking to build on their result against Ireland with another win to put to bed the criticism they faced after their game against Italy.

Belgium did look a much improved side in their last game and as Sweden haven’t looked a threat in either of their Euro 2016 games so far, I recommend backing Belgium -0.5 on the Asian Handicap betting market. There is no doubt that Belgium’s squad is packed with quality and so long as they work as a team, I think they will beat Sweden.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Belgium -0.5 @ 1.91 with BetVictor
