Sampdoria v AC Milan Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Friday 16th Sept By @J_RKeith

I didn’t do too well with my last Asian Handicap Betting Preview in Serie A. Fair to say, I thought Palermo would hold out against Napoli. That’s going to change this week as I honestly think I can score some profit in this Serie A clash between Sampdoria and AC Milan.

The hosts seem to be doing better than expected, looking at their squad. Two fairly comfortable games at the start of the season has pushed them up to fifth, but then again they were unlucky not to secure a point in their last encounter against AS Roma. Francesco Totti stealing the spotlight with a 90th minute winner to make it 3-2.

Marco Giampaolo will want to make it clear that home form is crucial, and this needs to be an improvement following on from last season. Towards the end of the campaign, Sampdoria only won three of their last ten and ended last season 15th. Two points off the bottom three.

When it comes to tactics, you look back at the formation set-up in their last two matches and they seem to settle for a 4-3-1-2. Three midfielders in front of the back four, and Ricky Alvarez supporting the two front men. On away days this seems compatible, but now Alvarez has been suspended, due to his red card against Roma, it will be interesting to see if Giampolo changes things up.

One more thing, fans will hate me for this, but Sampdoria have not beaten AC Milan at home since 2010. In fact, they have gone seven games without a win at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. No pressure then to keep up this great start to a campaign.

Carlos Bacca

Their competitors on Friday night though have plummeted from their days of ruling Europe. As now AC Milan are seen as just a mid-table side who could cause a shock now and again. How times have changed for I Rossoneri.

They have tremendous quality in the likes of Carlos Bacca, who bagged a hat-trick on the opening day of the season, as well as Riccardo Montolivo and Keisuke Honda. Big names, yes, but the team just does not reach the expectation predicted by others. This is where new manager Vincenzo Montella will need to bash a few heads together.

A big factor of why they seemed to crash under the pressure last season was their away form. Picking up only six wins out of 19 matches says it all. Not good enough from a side that won the Coppa Italia and Champions league in the same season.

Don’t get me wrong, there are reasons teams fail to win on the road. In their current squad Christian Zapata, one of their best centre-backs, is injured, while Juraj Kucka is suspended. However, looking at their summer signings in Gianluca Lapadula, who they signed from Serie B, and Argentinian Jose Sosa, an attacking midfielder, they sound like fringe players. The types that will definitely get the Milan crowd on their backs if they do not perform.

Overall, I cannot see much in this match. Alvarez will be a miss for Sampdoria, but they have players who could come in and do a job. With AC Milan you just don’t know what team will turn up. In conclusion, head-to-heads play a big part in my books and this price is one I just cannot say no to on the Asian handicap betting market. That’s why I am backing Milan.

AC Milan v Chelsea Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Thurs 4th August By @J_RKeith

AC Milan v Chelsea – US Bank Stadium at 02:00 live on Chelsea TV

It’s the final International Champions Cup match for both of these clubs who have had mediocre campaigns heading into the new season, as AC Milan will be taking on Chelsea at the US Bank Stadium on Thursday.

[expand title=”Read More…” swaptitle=”Hide” trigpos=”below” rel=”star-highlander” ]

AC Milan have only won one game so far in this ICC, and that was against Bayern Munich on penalties after drawing 3-3. Yet, Vincenzo Montella’s last match ended in a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool with 18 players getting a run out in California.
The Italian giants currently sit seventh in the ICC table, but a win could jump them up to second depending on other results.

Before this competition took off, Milan only played one friendly against Bordeaux which they won 2-1; Suso grabbing both goals in the first half. Even after this tournament Montella has another friendly lined-up against German club Freiburg eight days before their Serie A season starts.

Montella has a squad of 26 that he has used throughout this summer tournament, including key players Luis Adriano, Keisuke Honda and Gianluigi Donnarumma, yet Carlos Bacca remained in Milan due to fitness reasons.

In recent seasons, AC Milan have struggled to hit the heights that they once were at, especially in European competitions. Now they have a strong squad, but can Montella get them back into the top five.

Chelsea meanwhile have been hit and miss in the ICC this season. They beat Liverpool 1-0, yet lost 3-2 to Real Madrid most recently in Michigan; Eden Hazard coming off the bench to score a brace for the London club.
Much like Milan, a win on Thursday could take Chelsea up to second if other results go their way.

This will be Antonio Conte’s fifth friendly, with one more lined-up against Wolfsburg three days later, before their season kicks off on the 15th of August. So far, they have only won two matches and have conceded five in their last four.

Conte has made it clear that Diego Costa will not be featuring due to an injury while Mikel Jon Obi is currently with the Nigeria squad for the Rio Olympics.

Chelsea will be looking to put last year behind them and push on for European football for the following season. They have enough quality to challenge for the title, but the main focus will be keeping the big players fit and keeping morale high.

The last time these two sides met was in the 2013 ICC where Chelsea won 2-0. In their last five meetings Milan have only won one match, losing twice, but, they have not met in a competitive fixture since 1999.

Overall, I am looking at a Chelsea win for this one. Milan have a good squad, but I think the tactics of Conte and players available will be able to see-off the Italians and secure three points for the west London club.

Liverpool v AC Milan Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sun 31st July By @J_RKeith

Liverpool v. AC Milan – Buck Shaw Stadium at 03:05 live on Sky Sports 1

Two clubs with a rich history go head-to-head on Sunday morning as Liverpool face AC Milan at the Buck Shaw Stadium to put on a historic event for the ICC 2016 and it’s fans.

[expand title=”Read More…” swaptitle=”Hide” trigpos=”below” rel=”star-highlander” ]

Jurgen Klopp’s side head into their second ICC encounter after losing 1-0 to Chelsea in their opening game on Thursday; Liverpool claiming 55% possession, yet only had attempted three shots at goal.
This will be the Reds’ sixth friendly this season having won five, scored ten and conceded one.

Klopp has been busy in the transfer window having brought in six players players, including Southampton’s Sadio Mane, Augsburg’s Ragnar Klavan and Newcastle’s Georginio Wijnaldum. Meanwhile, players in Jordan Ibe, Joe Allen and Martin Skrtel have all gone in the other direction.

Competing in the ICC, this is Liverpool’s second tournament having taken part in 2014 where they advanced to the final only to lose to Manchester United 3-1 at the New Miami Stadium; Steven Gerrard scoring a penalty there.

Many fans have high hopes for Liverpool this season, considering Klopp took over in October and helped Liverpool reach two cup finals. However, to compete in the league they will need more quality as they have enough ambition to win a cup, but not challenge for the top spot.

Jurgen Klopp

AC Milan heads into this fixture having won both of their friendlies so far this season, beating both Bordeaux and, most recently, Bayern Munich on penalties in Chicago after drawing 3-3 on Thursday; Mbaye Niang scoring the first and assisting the third.
A win on Sunday could lift them to top of the ICC, dependent on other results.

Big news for AC Milan fans is that Carlos Bacca has been left out of the ICC squad due to links with a move away, while Mattia De Sciglio is also left out due to fitness reasons. Two massive players for Milan, yet the likes of Keisuke Honda, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Riccardo Montolivo have all travelled to the US.

This is the Italian club’s fourth ICC tournament, and yet they have never won the competition. Their best year coming in 2013 when they finished third after beating LA Galaxy 2-0 in the New Miami Stadium. Last year, they finished second on goal difference behind Real Madrid after beating Inter Milan and drawing with the Spanish outfit.

It’s difficult to understand what Milan will offer this campaign mainly because they finished 12th in Serie A last season, and although they were runners-up in the Coppa Italia their biggest signing this season has been Gianluca Lapadula from Pescara for £7.65 million.

These two clubs have only met three times before; twice in a Champions League final and most recently in the ICC 2014 where Liverpool won 2-0.

I would have to be in favour of Liverpool for this one; they have the stronger squad with key players keen to impress the German, and even though the struggled against Chelsea I cannot see AC Milan defending as deep as Conte did on Thursday. Minus a quarter should do it for me.
