Atalanta v Roma Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 20th November By @J_RKeith

Atalanta v Roma – Atleti Azzurri d’Italia at 14:00 live on BT Sport 3

Serie A is back for another week, and I have to say my last Asian Handicap betting recommendation didn’t go too well (Inter Milan, what more could you say?!), but I am now feeling confident about this one as Atalanta host AS Roma on Sunday afternoon.

Let’s start by saying the last time these two side met in Bergamo, the match finished 3-3; Francesco Totti scoring in the 86th minute to rescue a point for the visitors. So from that, I am hoping we are in for another goal fest on Sunday! But you never know with Italian football.

Atalanta

Heading into this match and both teams are doing really well. Atalanta are sitting fifth in Serie A and has won four games on the bounce conceding only one goal in their last six games. Gian Piero Gasperini’s last fixture ending in a 3-0 win at home to Sassuolo; the visitors setting up in the popular 3-4-3 formation.

However, I look at this Atalanta side and I cannot see where their quality lies. To me, it looks like a Leicester City team of the previous season; all ready to work hard for one another. I mean, if you were to ask me what players I recognise…Alberto Paloschi…that’s it, and he can’t even get a game!

A player I am looking forward to seeing though is Ivorian Franck Kessie. The 19-year-old has played ten times for La Dea and scored four goals, as the centre-midfield could make a real difference on the weekend.
On the other hand, four defenders sit out injured for the hosts, while Andrea Conti (a right back) is suspended too, so defensively they may not be as sharp.

One thing to consider is that Atalanta sit unbeaten in their last eight matches, and the last time these suffered defeat was when they fielded a 4-2-3-1 formation. Now since they have evolved into this 3-4-3 it is looking to suit the team and manager, and I bet fans are not that upset either. Performing above expectations.

Asian Handicap Betting

Mohamed Salah

Roma

With Roma, I have that sense that this will be another “just missed out on the season” campaign for the title challengers. They have never been able to keep up their push for a Serie A Championship since the days of Rudi Garcia as manager, and this season I don’t see it being any different.
At the moment, Luciano Spalletti’s team remain unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions and their last five in the Italian league. Roma’s last match finishing in a 3-0 victory at home to Bologna; Mohamed Salah bagging a hat-trick at the Stadio Olimpico.

They have no problem scoring goals either, having netted 13 in their last five matches, but a big miss for them in the summer was seeing the back of Miralem Pjanic as he went to join Italian Champions Juventus. Still, onwards and upwards. They still have quality in the likes of Kevin Strootman and underrated Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan.

One thing that Spalletti has done is stick to the 4-2-3-1 formation with plenty of attacking threat coming from the wings. May that be either through Salah, Diego Perotti or Stephan El Shaarawy, while the main outlet of Edin Dzeko is always a threat as he has been a striker I always thought could walk into any top European team.

One concern is that six players sit out injured, and this includes Roma legend Totti with a hip injury as the 39-year-old has no expected return date.

Conclusion

The defensive issues for Atalanta worry me because I wonder how Gasperini will set up with most of his full-backs out for this encounter. Yet, they look solid heading into this match-up. Roma, meanwhile, have always been a side I enjoy watching, but at times they just have off days and don’t perform the way you expect them too.

Overall, the price on Roma at -0.5 is one that I cannot turn down. They have the quality to perform and if they want to be seen a real title contenders now is the time to step up!

Sampdoria v Inter Milan Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 30th October By @J_RKeith

Sampdoria v Inter Milan – Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris at 19:45 live on BT Sport 2

We’re back in Serie A, and I find myself once again covering Inter Milan. They face Sampdoria on Sunday night in my latest Asian Handicap betting preview with Frank De Boer barely holding onto his job.

Sampdoria

There seems to be a lot of pressure on Inter Milan, but don’t think Sampdoria are sitting pretty. Marco Giampaolo’s side sit 16th in Serie A and have only won three of their ten matches so far this season.
Giampolo’s last game ending in a 4-1 defeat away to Juventus. They didn’t have a chance, considering they conceded two goals within ten minutes.

It seemed that the home side were finding their feet before they took on the Old Lady, sitting three games unbeaten in the league, but it looks like they have to start all over again. I mean, things did look promising considering they won the first two games of the campaign, but it just hasn’t got going.

On top of this, home form is one not to be proud of either. Two wins from their previous five isn’t great, but I hope former Inter Milan player Ricky Alvarez steps up having collected two assists so far this season in three matches.

Injuries have taken their toll on the other hand, four players sit sidelined while Antonio Cassano is suspended for this encounter.

Asian Handicap Betting

Mauro Icardi

Inter Milan

Where do you start with Inter Milan? A manager who is on the brink of losing his job, a club underachieving in both Serie A and Europa League and a captain who is hated by fans. Sounds like it is all made up, but this is what you have to deal with if you are a fan.
Frank De Boer’s men sit tenth in the league and have only won one of their last five matches in the Italian League.

Away form has been no better, considering Inter have only won three of their last 15 matches on the road. Their last away match finishing in a 2-1 defeat against Atalanta; a late winner sinking the visitors into a deep hole.

But there is also controversy around striker Mauro Icardi. Now, I am a fan of this player, but he doesn’t cover himself in much glory. Yet, this hasn’t stopped him scoring having netted eight times in 11 matches so far this campaign.
I think it is just about moving on, and the sooner they do that the better it would be for the club and players.

For the last two league games De Boer has stuck with a 4-3-3, but it would be good to see if he reverts back to a 4-2-3-1. One other issue is that three players sit out injured, while Gary Medel is suspended.

Conclusion

The last time these teams met Inter won 3-1 at the San Siro; Icardi getting on the score-sheet. In fact, Sampdoria has only won one of their last ten meetings against Inter Milan. At the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris, however, and the hosts remain unbeaten in two fixtures against Inter after three straight defeats to De Boer’s side.

I’m going for Inter in this one. Yes, their form hasn’t been great and they have been lacking quality and a finishing touch, but something tells me they will want to build on their last win and push on up the table. -0.5 for me!

Juventus v Sampdoria Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Wednesday 26th October by @tashason21

Juventus v Sampdoria – Juventus Stadium at 19:45 live on BT Sport 3

Last weekend I profited from backing AS Roma -2 @ 1.94 on the Asian Handicap betting market, as Roma thrashed Palermo 4-1 in Serie A. On Wednesday, I now turn my attention to the league match between Juventus and Sampdoria.

Juventus

Juventus lost 1-0 to Milan for the first time in the league for nearly 4 years last weekend.

The result was significant as it has really opened up the title race in Serie A. Prior to the match, Juventus held a 5 point gap over 2nd place Roma, but now that lead has been cut to only 2 points.

Last Saturday’s game was the first time Juve failed to score in a Serie A match this campaign.

Juventus have scored 2 or more goals in their last 8 league games on home soil and at home they are one of the most dangerous teams in Europe. Last season’s Serie A champions have won all of their home matches this campaign and are on a 20 game winning run in Serie A at the Juventus stadium.

Gonzalo Higuain is their current top-scorer, with 6 Serie A goals to his name.

A blow for Juventus however is that Paulo Dybala will miss 2 weeks of action, after picking up a thigh strain. Mario Mandzukic should replace him in the starting XI.

Milan face Genoa on Tuesday evening and a win would put even greater pressure on Juve ahead of their game on Wednesday.

After Sampdoria, Juventus face Napoli in another tough game and so 3 points here are vital.

Asian Handicap Betting Preview

Gonzalo Higuaín

Sampdoria

Last weekend Sampdoria beat Genoa 2-1 in their local derby, with Muriel and Izzo scoring the goals. This win was vital as prior to the game, their last victory had come at the end of August, when Sampdoria beat Atalanta 2-1.

The visitors have a poor record away from home however and the Juventus Stadium is a notoriously intimidating place to travel! Sampdoria have failed to win their last 4 league games away from home, which includes 3 defeats against Roma, Bologna and Cagliari.

Sampdoria are in for a tough test, although they will be given some encouragement by Juve’s defensive record of late. The Bianconeri have conceded in 3 out of their last 4 home matches in the league and so there is every possibility Sampdoria might feature on the scoresheet; they did manage to score 2 against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico!

Scoring away from home doesn’t seem to be a problem for Sampdoria and they’ve scored 4 goals in their last 4 games on the road.

The away side are currently 15th in the Serie A table on 11 points and a defeat would see them lurk dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Conclusion

Juventus have won 5 of the last 6 meetings between these 2 sides and I think they will get a comfortable victory on Wednesday. When the teams last met at the Juventus Stadium in Serie A, Juve thrashed Sampdoria 5-0. Although the away side may well get on the scoresheet, I am still backing Juve to win by 2 goals or more and therefore I recommend backing Juventus -1.75 on the Asian Handicap betting market.
