What Are The Latest Result?

Nine games were played in the last round of action; here, we will look at the key games in week 14 and highlight outstanding player performances.

Zalgiris Kaunas Vs Real Madrid

The champion of Spain, Real from Madrid, visited Zalgiris from Kaunas in the fourteenth round of the Euroleague. Real had been playing in its signature style heading into this game. They prepare for the most crucial part of the season by gently but surely getting in shape. Meanwhile, Zalgiris Kaunas has been excellent this season compared to the last; they are 6-7 and playing well, especially when they are away from home. Zalgiris Kaunas pulled off the upset in this game as they cruised past the Spanish champions Real Madrid 81-72

Zalgiris Kaunas

  • Keenan Evans led the line for Zalgiris Kaunas; he dropped a team-high 20 points and added five boards and two assists. Meanwhile, forward Edgaras Ulanovas contributed 19 points and added four boards to propel Zalgiris to the win.
  • Tyler Cavanaugh and Arnas Butkevicius both dropped 15 and 10 points, respectively, from the bench.

Реал Мадрид

  • Former Brooklyn Nets forward Dzanan Musa finished with a game-high 22 points and added four boards and two assists.
  •  Mario Hezonja added 17 points on 75% shooting from the field and 50% from long range in the loss to Zalgiris. He was the second of two players with double-digit points for Madrid in this game.

Fenerbahce Vs Baskonia

League leaders were up against sixth-placed Baskonia in this game. Fenerbahce started out strong in the Euroleague, but recently, it has been slipping. For instance, they embarrassingly fell to Real Madrid in Istanbul, 71:85. Meanwhile, Baskonia has significantly improved.

They first overcame Bayern with a score of 78:53, then Olympia with a score of 78:62. Both triumphs, nevertheless, were obtained at home. Baskonia was able to move up to the top eight as a result. Baskonia was desperate to get a win here to keep them in the top eight, and they did just that, winning 76-70 against Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce

  • Shooting guard Marko Guduric led the team in scoring with 14 points while he added three assists and two rebounds. Tonye Jekiri added 12 points and nine boards.
  • Nick Calathes had an 11 points, 13 rebounds double-double in the loss to Baskonia.

Baskonia

  • Baskonia was led in scoring by Markus Howard, who dropped 16 points. Pierria Henry followed with 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

Round 15 Predictions

Here we will look at the previews and predictions for key games in the upcoming matchday 15 in Euroleague basketball.

Olympiacos Vs Crvena Zvezda

With a 9-5 record, Olympiacos will feel it has something to prove against Zvezda (7-7), which also saw its winning run end in Round 14 after blowing a 21-point lead to lose to ASVEL last week. The top offense in the league is Olympiacos, which averages 86.4 points per game, while Zvezda has the third-best defense in the league, allowing just 76.6 points per game on average.

The game’s outcome will depend on whether the visiting team can slow down the efficient Olympiacos offense, which leads the league in assists per game with 22.3. Olympiacos desperately need to get back to winning ways and are tipped to win here.

Anadolu Efes Vs Panathinaikos

The action on Friday gets underway with a bang as defending champion Efes (7-7) takes on Panathinaikos (6-8), which is also looking to get back on the winning track following two road losses last week. Dwayne Bacon, who leads the league in scoring (20.3 points per game), will test Efes’ unreliable defense with his relentless shooting and potential direct opponent Will Clyburn (19.1 ppg).

This matchup between these two teams, one of the eight teams separating the seventh and fourteenth spots in the rankings by just one victory, is sure to be a competitive one. Panathinaikos’ offense has been key to them this season, and it has been reliable when called upon with Dwayne Bacon leading the line. I’d back Panathinaikos to win and further add to Efes’ woes.

We are in for quite the matchup in round 15 of the Euroleague basketball, with many teams looking to get back to winning ways after falling in round 14. Anadolu Efes and Panathinaikos is tipped to be the game of the week as it’s poised to be nothing short of entertaining.

Week 3, December 2022

The latest NBA action at the time of writing this piece took place in the third week of December, and it saw quite a number of intense matchups. The Suns and Pelicans game was the highlight of the game week, with a host of other games also delivering an entertaining show. With nothing more than thirty-two games played so far by any team in the league, here are the key matchups that took place.

Denver Nuggets Vs Los Angeles Lakers

This was a must-watch game in a Western Conference showdown. It was a game that was predicted to be a battle of big men as Anthony Davis was in MVP form heading into this game while Nikola Jokic was routinely carrying the Nuggets.

The Lakers had lost four of their last five games, coming off a 122-118 overtime loss at home to the Boston Celtics, while the Nuggets had won 3 straight games and were coming off a 141-128 home victory against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Despite losing Anthony Davis to injury in the first half, the Lakers won the game 126-108.

Денвер Наггетс

  • As usual, Nikola Jokic delivered for the Nuggets. He finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists as the Nuggets’ three-game winning streak ended.
  • Next up was point guard Jamal Murray, who finished with 23 points on 50% shooting from the field, followed by Aaron Gordon’s 17 points. Denver simply was unable to resist the Lakers’ second-half charge.

Лос-Анджелес Лейкерс

  • Lebron James took charge of scoring in Anthony Davis’ absence, and he dropped 30 points on 65% shooting from the field and got nine boards and two steals. King James ran riot on the Nuggets.
  • A potential 6th man of the year candidate, Russell Westbrook, played a huge part in the Lakers’ second-half turnaround in this game. He finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists triple-double. Austin Reaves followed with 16 points from the bench, while Dennis Schroder dropped 15.

New Orleans Pelicans Vs Phoenix Suns

In another heavyweight Western Conference encounter, the New Orleans Pelicans were up against the Suns for the fourth and last regular season encounter. There has been some bad blood between the two teams, and Zion Williamson played a huge part in it.

However, the Pelicans had won two of the three meetings heading into this one, while the Suns were looking to level things up. The Suns had Devin Booker back in this game, and he made the difference as the Suns won the game 118-114.

Новый Орлеан Пеликаны

  • Zion Williamson led the scoring for the Pelicans with 30 points on 80% shooting and nine assists, while C.J. McCollum dropped 27 points and eight assists.
  • Center Jonas Valanciunas dropped 12 points and eight boards. Naji Marshall and Jose Alvardo dropped 11 and 10 points from the bench, respectively.

Phoenix Suns

  • It was more of a one-man show for the Suns in this game, as Devin Booker was in his bag, and he scored with ease. He scored a game-high 58 points with high efficiency while dropping five assists and getting six boards.
  • Chris Paul followed with 18 points and eight assists, while Mikal Bridges contributed 15 points and three steals.

Chicago Bulls Vs Minnesota Timberwolves

The Chicago Bulls traveled north to compete against the Minnesota Timberwolves in an inter-conference match. Before this game, the Bulls lost to the New York Knicks 114-91, while the Timberwolves defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 112-110. Minnesota cruised past the Bulls in this game, winning 150-124.

Чикаго Буллз

  • Demar DeRozan led the Bulls in scoring with 29 points while he added six assists and two steals. Nikola Vucevic followed with 23 points and nine boards.
  • Zach Lavine scored 22 points as four of Chicago Bulls’ starting five dropped double digits in points.

Minnesota Timberwolves

  • Minnesota put up a franchise record in points in this game. Anthony Edwards led the scoring for the Timberwolves as he dropped a season-high 37 points, seven boards, and a career-high 11 assists.
  • D’Angelo Russel followed with 28 points; he shot 7 of 10 from long range while he added eight assists. The Timberwolves were without their star centers in this game, yet they dominated the Bulls in what seemed to be a collective effort.

In this game, the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors 119–116. As the clock ran out, Kyrie Irving made the game-winning three-point shot. At the same time, the Pistons enter this meeting following a 122-113 loss to the Sacramento Kings. The Nets stars went off in this game as Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving combined for 81 points to win the game 124-121.

World Cup 2022 Finals Result

All good things must end, and that’s the tale of the FIFA World Cup 2022 tournament. It indeed was a beautiful ending as Argentina and France gave their best performance in what could arguably be one of the most entertaining finals in the history of the World Cup. Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi was the name on every football fan’s lips at the end of the finals as the curtains were drawn on the tournament. Here we will look at how the finals went and how Argentina eventually won the World Cup in Lionel Messi’s era.

Match Result

The game started with a high tempo, with the Argentines dominating and retaining ball possession. France was outplayed entirely, but they maintained their shape and resisted the pressure. However, in football, there’s a limit to which you can just keep defending the ball.

Regular Time: 2-2

  • In an abysmal performance and probably his worst in France’s colors, Ousmane Dembele was responsible for Argentina’s opener as he fouled the tricky Angel Di Maria in box 18. Lionel Messi stepped up to the task and sent Hugo Lloris the wrong way to give Argentina the lead.
  • France just couldn’t get a break in this game. In the 36th minute, Argentina’s counter-attack, initiated by Lionel Messi, led to an Angel Di Maria goal, which meant France was down by two goals before the close of the first half. At this point, it looked like Argentina was destined to win the trophy, as France was playing without desire.
  • Before the close of the half, France’s coach, Didier Deschamps, made bold decisions by taking out Olivier Giroud and Ousmane Dembele. However, Dembele’s substitution was justified as he was the worst player on the pitch. Giroud’s removal was questionable, as he was France’s second-highest scorer in the competition. Kolo Muani and Marcus Thuram replaced Dembele and Giroud.
  • The second half was different, we saw a more balanced game, and France saw more of the ball and kept pushing. Yet in another audacious move, France’s coach removed Theo Hernadez and took out the under-performing Antoine Griezmann for Eduardo Camavinga to put more bodies in the midfield where they were being outplayed and Kingsley Coman for more attacking threat.
  • France finally got a legitimate chance at goal when Argentina’s defender Nicolas Otamendi fouled Kolo Muani in the penalty box, and the referee pointed to the spot. 23-year-old Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe stepped up and converted the spot kick beautifully to bring France within a goal.
  • Barely a minute later, Kylian Mbappe again orchestrated a one-two play and converted a beautiful volley beyond Emiliano Martinez’s reach to put France level. This goal changed the game completely, giving the French nationals hope for a back-to-back World Cup win.
  • The Argentines handled the pressure well and made some attempts at the goal at the death of the game, which was foiled by either poor finishing or a brilliant stop by the French defenders and goalkeeper. France held the fort and pushed the game to extra time.

Extra Time: 3-3

  • Both teams made some changes in the first half of the extra time, and it paid off for Argentina in the 109th minute, when Lionel Messi pounced on a Lloris spillover from Lautaro Martinez’s shot to put Argentina ahead.
  • The French did not allow this to dampen their feelings as they kept mounting pressure on Argentina. It finally paid off in the second half of the extra time when a penalty was awarded to France for Gonzalo Montiel blocking Kylian Mbappe’s shot with his arm.
  • Kylian Mbapper converted the spot kick to make it his third of the game and consequently brought the game to level terms. Both teams made last-gasp efforts to prevent the game from going to a shootout, but it was inevitable as the game ended 3-3 at the end of the extra time.

Penalty Shootout: 4-2, Argentina Won On Penalties

  • Kylian Mbappe was the first to take the spot kick, and he converted it; despite Emiliano Martinez getting his hands on it, it wasn’t enough to deny the Frenchman.
  • Lionel Messi similarly scored his penalty as he tucked it in the center, while Lloris’ last-gasp effort to change direction was futile.
  • Kingsley Coman was next in line for France. He attempted a low shot, which Martinez saved.
  • Paulo Dybala, who barely got minutes in the tournament, was next to play the spot kick for the Argentines and converted it calmly.
  • Aurelien Tchouameni missed his spot kick widely and ultimately blew the French’s hope of winning the trophy.
  • Leandro Paredes scored his penalty kick for Argentina to put the Albicelestes upfront by two.
  • Kolo Muani drove his kick down the middle to give France a glimpse of hope.
  • Down to the deciding kick, with pressure on Lloris to make a save to give France a lifeline in the shootout, Gonzalo Montiel sent Lloris the wrong way to win the World Cup for Argentina.

The game ended 3-3 at the end of regular time and 4-2 on penalties.

Half A Goal predicted correctly that Lionel Messi would score or assist, while Kylian Mbappe was also tipped to score.

It was a beautiful scene to see Lionel Messi finally win the much-coveted trophy, which completes his career and puts him in the G.O.A.T status (Greatest Of All Times). Kylian Mbappe, who emerged as the highest goal scorer in the competition with eight goals, is the next big thing in football. Lionel Messi emerged as the player of the tournament; Emiliano Martinez won the golden glove, while Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernadez was the young player of the tournament.
