Sporting v Dortmund Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Tuesday 18th October By @J_RKeith

Sporting v Dortmund – Estadio Jose Alvalade at 19:45 live on BT Sport Extra 3

We’re back for the Champions League and after Dortmund let me down in my last UCL Asian Handicap Betting pick, I am hoping they can do better here. The Germans travel to Portugal where they will take on Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night.

Sporting Lisbon

It hasn’t been such a bad campaign for Sporting Lisbon this season, they are third in both the Primeira Liga and in their Champions League group whilst sitting unbeaten in their last four matches. Not bad, especially since they made the next round of the Taca De Portugal on Thursday; Lazar Markovic scoring the winner against Famalicao.

Furthermore, what I gather from this team, it is one that is not easily pushed over. They were so unlucky not to gain a point away to Real Madrid considering they were winning for a majority of the match. Also, some of the players they have in their squad have real talent and have played at major clubs around the world.

One player I look forward to watching is William Carvalho. The centre-midfielder had a key role in Euro 2016 for Portugal and is a great passer of the ball. It would be good to see him again Dortmund and whether he can deliver through balls for the likes of Markovic or Bryan Ruiz.

I wouldn’t write off Sporting Lisbon for this one, especially when you look at their squad, and their manager Jorge Jesus, but it’s whether they can deliver in this competition. Last season they just missed out on a spot after losing to CSKA Moscow over two legs. Watch out for these lot!

Borussia Dortmund

Their opponents, meanwhile, are well known in this competition considering they came so close to lifting the Champions League in 2012. Borussia Dortmund enter the competition after a year out and failing to leave their mark in the Europa League.

Things haven’t been perfect for the German side recently having not picked up a win from their last three matches. Their last game ending in a 1-1 draw at home to Hertha Berlin.

I’m surprised no one has hyped this group up as the ‘Group of Death’. With Real Madrid it is these two sides who are battling it out for second spot. Away from home, Dortmund have only won six of their last ten, losing four. Not great considering they are taking on a side who has won their last five at home in all competitions.

Furthermore, what makes it harder for Thomas Tuchel is that eight players are out injured including Marco Reus, Andre Schurrle and Sven Bender. These are all key members of the squad and massive losses. Honestly, it doesn’t look good for BVB. They still have the class act in Pierre-Emerick Aubaumeyang, and playmaker Mario Gotze though, but surely these injuries will affect the flow of the team.

These two sides have never met before in a competitive fixture, but Jorge Jesus’ side have only won twice at home against a German club from their 12 meetings. Dortmund, on the other hand, have only won one of their four matches on the road in Portugal.

Based on form and players available, I am backing Sporting Lisbon for this one. The players they have at their disposal should do the job at home. Also, with the experience of Jesus, he should deliver at the Estadio Jose Alvalade. Dortmund will obviously remain a threat, but too many players are missing for me to think they can win this one.

Borussia Dortmund v Real Madrid Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Tue 27th Sept By @J_RKeith

Borussia Dortmund v Real Madrid – Westfalenstadion at 19:45 live on BT Sport ESPN

What a tie to take place in the group stages of the Champions League! A rich history between these two clubs, and I reckon I can find some profit for this Asian Handicap betting preview, as the match takes place on Tuesday night at the Westfalenstadion.

Borussia Dortmund

What can you say about Borussia Dortmund? Sitting second in the Bundesliga they are flying having scored 20 goals in their last four fixtures in all competitions. Crazy. Furthermore, their last game finished in a 3-1 win at home to Freiburg; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring his fifth goal in four matches for the club.

If there was ever a time for Dortmund to push on for the title, it is now. Yet, they will want to leave a stamp on European Football having gotne so close to winning the Champions League a couple of years ago. Everyone remembers that one; Wembley Stadium, the venue, with Bayern Munich clinching the win in stoppage time. Great match.

One player I cannot wait to see come up against Real Madrid is Aubameyang. I was surprised not to see another big club go in for the Gabonese striker, yet he has continued to deliver for BVB. Netting 39 goals in all competitions last season, I reckon it will be hard for Zidane to ignore this name.

Furthermore, the return of Mario Gotze from Bayern Munich has been a plus. The German put in a fine display in their opening Champions League tie against Legia Warsaw, winning 6-0. The only hope I have is that we see Marco Reus sometime soon.

Real Madrid

If I remember correctly, Real Madrid messed me up in my last Asian Handicap betting preview, drawing at home to Villarreal 1-1 and failing to win 17 consecutive matches in La Liga. Unlucky not to set a new record.
I do not know whether this is a blip considering they drew 2-2 on the weekend away to Las Palmas.

On top of this, there has been some gossip that Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo have had a rift after the Portuguese star was substituted. The Frenchman was quick to come out and swat those headlines away.

Real Madrid’s common formation seems to be a 4-3-3, as Alvaro Morata led the line in the last match and it has to be asked whether Karim Benzema will get the nod ahead of the Spaniard. However, the key factors are whether both Gareth Bale and Ronaldo will start. There is no reason why they should not.

You have to look at the positives though and that is Zidane’s side still remain unbeaten since May in all competitions. Away from home they have only won five of their last ten in this competition.

The last time these two sides met in Dortmund, the hosts won 2-0. In fact, Real Madrid have won only once at Westfalenstadion on six visits.

Mark Clattenberg will be refereeing this one so expect some more Pepe antics to be ignored and not many cards to be issued. It will also be good to see whether Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel sticks with his 4-5-1 formation against the Spanish giants.

It is such a difficult one to call, but I am going for Borussia Dortmund to claw out a result against a Madrid side who are not exactly in the best of places at the moment.

Wolfsburg v Borussia Dortmund Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Tuesday 20th September by @tashason21

After landing 3/3 Asian Handicap betting winners last weekend, I am hoping my run continues into this week’s Bundesliga!

[expand title=”Read More…” swaptitle=”Hide” trigpos=”below” rel=”star-highlander” ]

Wolfsburg won their opening game of the season 2-0 away at Augsburg, but have since failed to win or score.

An abundance of missed opportunities sums up the consecutive 0-0 draws in the Bundesliga against FC Koln and Hoffenheim.

Despite being the better side on Saturday against Hoffenheim, Wolfsburg worryingly lacked composure up top. Striker Mario Gomez is yet to get off the mark for his new side and again couldn’t deliver the goods.

Last season Wolfsburg finished 8th in the Bundesliga and they have noticeably struggled since the sale of Kevin De Bruyne to Manchester City.

Dieter Hecking will be hoping his side can get an important 3 points against Dortmund, although this is certainly going to be their toughest clash of the new season in the league to date.

Wolfsburg will be encouraged by their home form however, as they’ve lost just 3 of their last 35 games at home

Dortmund currently lie 5th in the Bundesliga and thrashed Darmstadt 6-0 last Saturday. What a way to bounce back from their disappointing 1-0 loss to newly promoted RB Leipzig!

The strength of Dortmund’s team across the pitch is demonstrated by the 5 different goalscorers that appeared on the score-sheet against Darmstadt! Castro looked impressive again, bagging a brace for his side.

Thomas Tuchel’s men are banging in the goals and also thrashed Legia Warsaw 6-0 away from home in their first Champions League group game last week.

At the Volkswagen Arena last season, Dortmund came out 2-1 winners with Kagawa and Reus scoring the goals. A Ricardo Rodriguez penalty was a consolation for Wolfsburg on that night.

In the reverse fixture Dortmund also came out on top, with a 5-1 Bundesliga win at the Westfalenstadion.

This clash usually delivers in terms of goals and as a result I recommend backing over 3 goals, which looks a good price at 2.06.
