Southampton v Liverpool Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Saturday 19th November By @J_RKeith

Southampton v Liverpool – St. Mary’s Stadium at 15:00

The Premier League is back, and after claiming 2/3 wins in my UFC 205 betting preview I am hoping to claim a win in my latest Asian Handicap betting recommendation as Southampton host Liverpool on Saturday at St. Mary’s.

So far this campaign it has been hit and miss for the Saints, sitting tenth in the Premier League they have only won one of their last five matches. Furthermore, just before the international break Claude Puel’s team lost 2-1 to Hull City after holding a 1-0 lead away from home.
Their home form is a positive, on the other hand, considering they have only lost one game at St. Mary’s this season, and two of their last 15. Obviously home form is important, but then again if they want to be competing in Europe for another season they will need to improve on the road.

But again, I don’t think it is okay to state Europe is taking it’s toll mainly because Southampton are sitting top of their group and these are professional footballers. This is what their career is all about.

Yet, one concern I have is that Shane Long hasn’t been the same player from last season. Yes, injuries have been a problem, but considering he netted ten goals last campaign, he hasn’t been the same willing runner the Saints’ fans are used to seeing.
Furthermore seven players are out injured for the home side, and I look at their squad and wonder where their goals will come from? Yes they have Charlie Austin, but two of his five goals have come from the spot-kick. For me, I just think they lack that finishing touch.

Asian Handicap Betting

Sadio Mane, Coutinho & Roberto Firmino

What can you say about Liverpool? They are absolutely flying and have been scoring goals for fun in recently. I watched their recent match against Watford and I felt sorry for the Hornets; mainly because it was just attack after attack at the Kop. In the end, Liverpool won the game 6-1.

The Reds have only lost one game so far this season, and since that defeat in the second week Klopp has seemed stricter with the squad, but at the same time congratulate their success. I am looking forward to how he sets up at St. Mary’s against a squad with a solid home record.

There looks to be no real injury crisis for Liverpool, as only Danny Ings remains out, while Adam Lallana is still 50/50 on his return. However, I am looking forward to seeing the front three of Roberto Firmino, Coutinho and Sadio Mane put in a display on Saturday; scoring 16 goals between the three of them so far this campaign.

On top of this, Liverpool are not competing in Europe so they won’t have any said “distractions”. I also enjoy their 4-3-3 formation as the front three have a great chemistry, and change to a 4-2-4 when attacking which is difficult to defend against.

The last time these two sides met at St. Mary’s, Southampton walked away with a 3-2 win as Sadio Mane grabbed a brace (how they need him now). But overall, Liverpool has won three of their last five visits to the South of England. Yet, at St. Marys, it stands at 6-4 to the home team in their last ten meetings.

I really cannot look past Liverpool for this one. The international break went well for most of the players and I believe Klopp will expect more of the same this coming weekend. With Southampton, injuries are a massive problem and I just think the quality isn’t there to prevent Liverpool scoring against them.

Southampton v Inter Milan Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Thursday 3rd November by @tashason21

Southampton v Inter Milan – St. Mary’s Stadium at 20:05 live on BT Sport 2

Southampton take on Inter Milan for the second time in the Europa League group stage and this game is the focus of my latest Asian Handicap betting preview. A few weeks ago at the San Siro, Southampton lost 1-0 as a result of a goal scored by Antonio Candreva.

[expand title=”Read More…” swaptitle=”Hide” trigpos=”below” rel=”star-highlander” ]

Southampton were unlucky to lose against Inter last time round, after missing a host of good chances. The Saints will be confident of a result on Thursday however, as they’ve been unplayable on home soil at times this season.

Claude Puel’s side suffered their first home defeat of the 2016/17 campaign across all competitions against Chelsea (2-0) last weekend. Prior to this loss, Southampton were undefeated at St Mary’s in 14 home games, which is very impressive.

The Saints have had a decent start in the Premier League and are currently 9th in the table. Puel will want to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Chelsea against Hull City on Sunday and therefore it is difficult to predict how strong a team he will put out against Inter.

Charlie Austin has been the key man for the Saints and has scored 7 goals across all competitions this season, including a brace in their 3-0 win at home to Sparta Prague in the Europa League back in September. With Shane Long out injured, Austin is likely to start and he’ll be the man that will cause Inter problems.

In the Europa League, Southampton sit 3rd in Group K on 4 points with a W1, D1, L1 record to date. The group is extremely tight however, with opponents Inter sitting bottom with 3 points and Sparta Prague are top with 6 points.

Southampton have been struggling to convert their chances of late and as a result, have won just 2 of their last 7 games across all competitions. The home side are very much in need of 3 points against Inter on Thursday, otherwise they could be in danger of missing out on the knockout stages.

Charlie Austin & Southampton celebrate

Inter Milan

A few days ago Inter Milan sacked manager Frank de Boer after just 85 days in charge. Inter are therefore in disarray, as the search for a new manager continues.

The away side have had a poor start to the season and sit 12th in Serie A. They’ve won 4, drawn 2 and lost 5 of their league matches to date and most recently suffered a 1-0 defeat away to 14th placed Sampdoria in Serie A.

Inter have lost 4 of their last 5 matches in the Italian league and their sole win during this period was against Torino (2-1) a few weeks ago.

Matters have also been made worse for the club in the past month as a result of the Icardi scandal.

Despite the negativity surrounding Icardi, he’s definitely the danger-man and has scored 8 goals in 14 appearances so far this season. Icardi most recently bagged a brace against Torino.

Inter need to avoid defeat against Southampton to remain in with a chance of qualifying for the knock-out stage and even taking all of their issues into account, I believe they’ve still got the quality to cause the Saints problems.

Southampton’s home form is undeniably strong, but Inter will still pose a threat at St Mary’s due to the quality they possess in their squad. As Puel’s side are solid at home, they should get the win, although I am also expecting both teams to score. Today I think there is better value on the Asian Total Goals market and therefore I recommend backing over 2.25 goals, as I think we’ll be seeing more goals in this fixture than we did last time round.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Over 2.25 goals at 1.84 with Pinnacle

Hapoel Beer Sheva v Southampton Asian Handicap Betting Preview By @The_Drewse

Hapoel Beer Sheva v Southampton – Yaakov Turner Toto Stadium at 18:00 on BT Sport 3

For my first Europa League Asian Handicap Betting preview, I’ll be covering the Hapoel Beer Sheva v Southampton match. Both teams won their opening matches, with Hapoel gaining a surprise away win against Inter Milan. Southampton, as predicted beat Sparta Prague in convincing fashion.

[expand title=”Read More…” swaptitle=”Hide” trigpos=”below” rel=”star-highlander” ]

Hapoel Beer Sheva

Hapoel find themselves in third position in the Israeli Premier League having beat Bnei Yahuda. Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme scored two goals in the game. He’ll look to maintain his rich vein of form against the Saints.

Although solid at the top, The Camels’ main strength is their back line. They’ve got the meanest defence in their domestic league, conceding just 3 goals in 5 games. They also kept a clean sheet at the San Siro, one of the hardest arenas in World football to get a result from.  The incumbent Israeli champions have a fantastic record at their stadium (The Turner Stadium). They are unbeaten in five UEFA home fixtures that stretches back to 2004 in a forfeit loss. Hapoel have also won all five of their competitive matches at The Turner.

Asian Handicap Betting

Charlie Austin

Southampton have found another gear to kickstart their campaign, having started of very slowly.  The team have adapted to Claude Puel’s tactics and have won four on the spin with as many clean sheets.

Charlie Austin is currently on a hot streak with 5 goals in his last 4 games and must be favourite for first goal scorer. The former QPR striker must surely be in contention for an England call-up.  The Saints shouldn’t underestimate their opponents especially with The Camels’ shock win against Inter and their imperious home form.

Southampton are still without new signing Sofiane Boufal, who isn’t expected to return until October. He is joined on the treatment table by Jay Rodriguez and Florin Gardos who won’t be making the 3,700 km journey to Israel. There will be a couple of acquaintances for the opposing teams. Miguel Vitor of Beer Sheva played with Southampton’s captain Jose Fonte for two years. While Ben Sahar and Ryan Bertrand were team-mates at Chelsea.

I believe that this will be a somewhat tricky game for the Saints. You have to put into consideration the long journey that they’ll take and their lack of experience in European games. I do however think that they’ll persevere and edge their Israeli counterparts by a scoreline of 2-1. Midfielder James Ward-Prowse should start this game, with Puel expected to make wholesale changes. I’m a huge fan of the England under-21 captain and suggest that he’ll be pivotal to their success tonight
