What you need to know about Man Utd after acquiring Jadon Sancho

The decision of Manchester United to sign up Jadon Sancho last year was a firm commitment by the team to secure its future in the English Premier League (EPL).

Regarded as one of the best youthful players in his generation, the 22-year-old winger established his niche in using feints in one-on-one situations which is an arsenal of his game.

Find out what the signing of Sancho means to Manchester United moving forward, as they bid for more EPL titles and remain as one of the elite teams in European football.

FROM YOUTH SUCCESS TO POSSIBLE EPL GREATNESS

Expectations are high for Sancho at Manchester United after the Camberwell, England, native was part of England’s under-17 team that reached the final of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in May 2017.

The Red Devils can use more scoring from Sancho, who helped the England youth team in winning the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup before making his senior team debut in 2018.

Sancho showed lots of potential with his first senior stint with Borussia Dortmund in 2017-18 in the Regionalliga West. He would later make his Bundesliga debut in the 2017-18 season in a stint that led to 38 goals in 104 appearances in a five-year run.

TEN HAG’S FAITH IN SANCHO KEY TO WINNING

Sancho had a slow start once he completed his transfer to Manchester United in the 2021-22 season when he managed just three goals in 29 appearances. But the Red Devils are not giving up on their youthful star this early.

Manager Erik ten Hag is committed to developing Sancho’s game as Man Utd prepares for the new EPL season.

Ten Hag was seen giving advice to Sancho in training in a photo on social media early this month, which bodes well to a solid manager-player relationship coming into the new season.

SANCHO MOVE A START FOR OTHER TRANSFER MOVES

An impressive performance for Sancho in 2023 does not imply a successful campaign for Man Utd. But expect more transfer bids by the Red Devils to surround Sancho with more talent if the team’s luck holds.

Ten Hag is also high on Netherlands international Frenkie De Jong, who may be on the move with a transfer deal after playing for Barcelona in La Liga the previous season.

The new manager’s former players could also join Sancho at Old Trafford, with the likes of Jurrien Timber, Lisandro Martinez, and Matthijs de Ligt identified as potential targets for next season.

RED DEVILS EYE MORE BALL CARRIERS

The signing of Sancho is just a piece needed to solve a puzzle that will lead to a deep Man Utd run in the EPL.

Ten Hag is determined to equip the Red Devils with more ball carriers who can space the field away from tight areas and lead to more scoring opportunities per match.

Man Utd is also hot on the tail of Brazilian footballer Anthony, who is currently playing for Eredivisie club Ajax and also a member of the Brazilian national team.

Ten Hag is no stranger to handling several young wingers in his squad as proven in his previous stint with Ajax.If De Jong and Anthony get to play with Sancho at Old Trafford,

Ten Hag will not only fill the Red Devils’ need for a central midfielder, a center back, and a center forward. But the move will also fill the key pieces that can lead Man Utd’s bright future for several years.
