The Utah Jazz is worthy of being the No.1 seed in the Western Conference as they beat the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 5 of Jazz vs Grizzlies. After their decisive win, they will advance to the second round of the series.

There was no question that the Jazz would win because it was over as soon as it started. Donovan Mitchell started the game, scoring almost at will. He posted 30 points with 10 assists shooting 11/16 from the field and 5/8 from three.

Donovan Mitchell Determined to Win After Losing Last Playoffs

No one can forget last season’s playoffs when Utah blew a 3-1 lead to the Denver Nuggets. This was what Mitchell had in mind when playing for the first round of the playoff series. He did not want to repeat such history. That’s why even if allergies woke him up every hour a night before the Jazz played in Game 5 of Jazz vs Grizzlies, he focused on starting fast and finishing strong.

This is just what he did as he scored 26 of his 30 points in just the first half, and because of it, Utah was able to eliminate the Grizzlies on Wednesday night. Mitchel also had 10 assists and 6 rebounds in 29 minutes.

Mike Conley Leaves Game 5 of Jazz vs Grizzlies Due to Injury

With 8:58 left in the second quarter, Conley had to leave because of right hamstring soreness. He had aggravated his right hamstring. He also missed 21 games during the regular season because of his balky hamstring.

In an interview with the media, he stated, “In the first quarter, I felt just the little tug or whatever in my hammy. I made the bench and made the staff aware … but it just kept getting more and more sore as I was running on it so they decided to pull me.”

Conley was discouraged because he worked so hard in training and missed so many games.

“I’m frustrated, for sure, after … I put a lot of effort into showing up early, staying late, strengthening, running, conditioning, everything,” Conley said.
